3 Students Who Lost Their Lives in FL Shooting Awarded Medal of Heroism

Three students that were JROTC cadets and were killed at the Florida school shooting last week will receive Medals of Heroism.

The US Army awards a Medal of Heroism to a cadet that performs an act of heroism.

A petition was created last week for one of the students, Peter Wang, to receive a full honors military burial - the caption for the petition said the following:

"Peter Wang, 15, was one of the students killed in Florida this past week. He was a Jrotc Cadet who was last seen, in uniform, holding doors open and thus allowing other students, teachers, and staff to flee to safety. Wang was killed in the process. His selfless and heroic actions have led to the survival of dozens in the area. Wang died a hero, and deserves to be treated as such, and deserves a full honors military burial."

The US Army has presented the families of Wang, along with fellow JROTC cadets Alaina Petty and Martin Duque, posthumous medals of heroism.
