A Dickson County Sherriff's deputy was shot and killed this morning. He had tried to stop a driver with expired tags around 7am but the driver sped off, leading to a short chase in which shots were exchanged. One of the shots hit and killed the deputy.
The suspect is still on the loose around the area near Bear Creek Valley Road and Tidwell Switch - residents in the area are being told to be aware and call 615-446-8041 or 911 to report anything suspicious.
