More than 22,000 New Unemployment Claims Filed in Tennessee

We have now been in the pandemic for a little more than three months. During this time the cases of COVID-19 have increased but so have the number of unemployment claims. Tennesseans filed 22,431 new unemployment claims for the week ending July 11 and Shelby County alone was 5,246. There are currently a total of 251,924 active claims in Tennessee which were down from last week.
