Children with COVID-19 in Tennessee Found to Have High ICU Risk

As the number of COVID-19 cases increase the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are examining the severity of cases in children. In 14 states children were found at risk of hospitalization much lower than adults. However, one in three children were admitted to ICU. The CDC found 42% of the 576 pediatric cases had one or more underlying medical conditions with Hispanics and Black children having higher prevalences.

It also showed overall, obesity was the most prevalent underlying condition.
