Lindsay Lohan was arrested at 4am eastern after police say she got into a bar brawl with another female patron at Club Avenue in NYC.  Cops say it started with verbal jabs and ending with lunching throwing punches.

TMZ is saying the two were in nearby booths and Lindsay was saying "give me space". Next thing they knew, Lindsay's fists were giving the other girl a makeover.

LiLo is still on probation for stealing jewelry and the cops in LA are preparing to arrest her for lying to them about not being behind the wheel when her Porsche drove into the back of a semi earlier this year.

UPDATE: Z100 radio in NYC is saying security detail at the club has shared that before getting into the dust-up, Lohan appeared to be  making advances towards the The Wanted's George Max.

 Their source confirms that the troubled star of "Liz and Dick" was "not at the top of her game," and that after several attempts to chat up Max, he allegedly told Lohan to "F*** Off!" before proceeding to chat with another club attendee. 

Turns out that the woman to whom Max next turned his attention, is the very same one alleged to be assaulted by Lohan.
